An Industrial Home with a Sustainable Soul – Through the Photographer’s Lens. Some homes are best experienced through light, shadow, and texture—this is one of them. Designed by Ar. Lavannya Goradia and built by the in-house team at Studio Alaya, this industrial-style residence, crafted for Roopasri Vittal, is a striking example of how architecture can balance raw aesthetics with sustainability. As a photographer, capturing this home was an exploration of contrasts—solid yet airy, industrial yet warm, bold yet intimately connected to natural elements. Light defines this space. A massive skylight crowns the structure, allowing natural light to flood in and shift dynamically throughout the day. Every surface—whether concrete, metal, or wood—interacts uniquely with this illumination, casting patterns that evolve with time. The house isn’t just lit; it’s shaped by light, creating dramatic compositions that lend themselves effortlessly to photography.
