Lavannya Goradia of Studio Alaya and built by the in-house team for Divya and Darshan as a home that reflects simplicity, warmth, and responsibility towards the environment. The design draws inspiration from the principles of sustainability, creating a residence that is both enduring and contemporary. Thoughtful Design Approach The residence is planned to respond to its urban context while ensuring privacy and a sense of retreat from the bustle of the city. Large openings bring in ample daylight and natural ventilation, reducing dependence on artificial lighting and cooling. The layout promotes openness, allowing spaces to flow seamlessly while maintaining their individual character. Material Palette At the heart of the design lies a conscious choice of materials. Locally sourced and sustainable elements such as exposed brick and natural wood shape the architectural language of the house. The wooden entrance door, adorned with intricate carvings, sets the tone for what lies within—a blend of tradition and modernity. These handcrafted details celebrate cultural heritage while anchoring the home in timeless elegance. Sustainable Living The residence embraces passive design strategies and durable materials that age gracefully over time. This not only reduces the home’s ecological footprint but also creates a healthy and comfortable living environment for its inhabitants. A Contemporary Yet Rooted Home Divyadarshana Residence is more than a dwelling; it is an architectural narrative of balance. Rooted in sustainable practices, enriched with traditional craftsmanship, and designed for modern urban life, it stands as a thoughtful example of how homes can be both responsible and inspiring. As an architectural photographer, I found the Divyadarshana Residence to be a beautiful dialogue between sustainability and modern living—an inspiring project to capture and share.”
